Apologies for the site looking a little bare just at present, but please keep watching this space. I am expanding the site to incorporate not only my glass artwork, but also my other passion - textiles.
Glass art has been a major part of my life for the last few years, experimenting and "playing" with a variety of techniques, taking some variations more seriously than others! I spend a lot of time designing most of my pieces, and deliberately never make two the same (commissioned work occasionally requires this, but the design will still be unique to that project). I feel that individuality is important, and have unconciously developed a particular “Heidi” style, based largely on influences from my extensive travels abroad, and more recently by my children.
Talking of children, this brings me to my other passion - textiles. My mum taught me to sew and use the sewing machine from an early age, and I have encouraged my teenage daughter to learn too. Working together as a team we have designed and made a variety of items from bunting to bags to beanbags, and had a lot of fun in the process. She has just returned from the 23rd World Scout Jamboree in Japan, and most of her fund-raising came from selling these items. We decided to continue creating...
